By the end of this session, parents will walk away with a newfound appreciation for the developmental building blocks that shape a child's earliest and most formative years, and a clearer picture of what truly holistic education looks like in practice.
Through an engaging presentation packed with real-life experiences, Dan walks parents through the key stages of child development from ages 3 to 11, the five domains that build a whole child, and why nurturing these foundations early makes all the difference, not just academically, but in character, confidence and lifelong resilience.
Parents will see, firsthand, how the Canadian Ontario Curriculum is uniquely designed to honour every dimension of a child's growth, weaving core academic knowledge together with transferable skills, cross-curricular thinking, and ongoing, meaningful assessment that keeps families informed every step of the way.

Dan Fisher is a Canadian elementary school principal with over two decades of experience across the Toronto District School Board. A holder of a Master of Education, Dan has contributed his expertise to the Universities of Calgary, Waterloo and Toronto, and is a published contributor on Edutopia, the world's leading K–12 education platform.
He is currently the Head of Programme, Canadian Elementary and Middle School at Sunway International Schools, Sunway City, Kuala Lumpur. He is also a father of two high school students.

Jeffrey brings over a decade of diverse international teaching experience from classrooms across Canada, the UK, China and Malaysia. Holding a Master of Education, a Bachelor of Education and an Honours Degree in Psychology, he offers a deeply global and well-rounded perspective to high school education.
